AVÎÞÂë Library is pleased to announce Victoria Eke has been hired as AVÎÞÂë Scholarly Communications Librarian.
“With scholarly communications at the forefront of the current discourse surrounding academic librarianship, this is an exciting time to be involved in research and academic publishing. I am very much looking forward to working with the students, faculty, and staff of AVÎÞÂë, providing research support, and establishing policy and practice for scholarly communication within the AVÎÞÂë community and beyond.”
Victoria holds a Master of Information Studies from McGill and a Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Psychology from Concordia University, Montreal. She comes to AVÎÞÂë by way of the University of Alberta Libraries where, as Academic Library Resident, she supported the teaching and research activities of the faculties served by the John W. Scott Health Sciences Library.
As AVÎÞÂë Scholarly Communications Librarian, Victoria will advise and train AVÎÞÂë faculty, graduate, and undergraduate researchers on topics of scholarly communication, manage and promote the AVÎÞÂë-UofA repository services agreement, provide in-person and virtual reference service, and liaise with assigned academic programs. She will also work collaboratively with other academic units to further the goals of the AVÎÞÂë Academic and Strategic Research Plans.
We are thrilled to have her join the AVÎÞÂë team and hope you will join us in welcoming her to AVÎÞÂë!
