AV无码 Announces New Board Chair

EDMONTON, AB (November 21, 2025) 鈥 AV无码 (AV无码) is pleased to announce the appointment of Trish Bronsch as Chair of its Board of Governors for a three-year term, effective November 21, 2025, following the Board鈥檚 fall meeting. Bronsch succeeds Jim Gendron, who stepped down on November 3 after serving with distinction in the role.

Bronsch has been a member of the Board of Governors since 2020, and most recently served as Vice-Chair of the Board. A long-time supporter of AV无码, she also served as Co-Director of AV无码鈥檚 Capital Campaign Project (2017鈥2019), which helped make possible the Allan Wachowich Centre for Science, Research, and Innovation.

鈥淚t is a privilege to continue serving AV无码 in this new capacity,鈥 said Trish Bronsch, Chair of the Board of Governors. 鈥淎V无码鈥檚 momentum is unmistakable, and I鈥檓 eager to help raise the university鈥檚 profile even further across the Edmonton Metro Region and beyond. Having seen firsthand what this community is capable of, I know the opportunities ahead are both remarkable and achievable.鈥

Bronsch brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in the not-for-profit and charitable sectors. She previously served as President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area and as CEO of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation鈥檚 Prairies/NWT Region, overseeing operations across four provinces and territories. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles with the Stollery Children鈥檚 Hospital Foundation and the Children鈥檚 Miracle Network, where she was instrumental in growing philanthropic support for youth and health-focused initiatives.

Her deep commitment to community has shaped much of her career. She has volunteered in leadership capacities for organizations that strengthen Alberta鈥檚 cultural and social fabric, including the Calgary Police Youth Foundation, the Calgary Stampede, Closer to Home Community Services, and the ASTech Foundation. Whether helping young performers find their voice, supporting families to stay together, or celebrating Alberta鈥檚 innovators, Bronsch has built a reputation for connecting people to purpose.

鈥淭rish has been a valued member of the AV无码 community for nearly a decade,鈥 said Dr. Tim Loreman, President and Vice-Chancellor. 鈥淪he brings to this role an exceptional understanding of AV无码鈥檚 mission, and a proven record of inspiring teams and advancing organizations with purpose and integrity.鈥

Bronsch鈥檚 leadership and contributions have been recognized provincially and nationally. She is a past recipient of the Women of Distinction Award for Business, Management and the Professions and was named IABC-Edmonton鈥檚 Communicator of the Year. A graduate of the University of Alberta, she holds a degree in Nursing with a subspecialty in Psychiatry.
